We love today’s topic!

Stenciling cards is a relaxing pastime, and yields professional results. Too often, store-bought cards are read once, placed in a drawer, and forgotten. Store-bought cards can lack meaning and a personal touch. Making cards at home has gained popularity in recent years, and for good reason! They can be superior in every way.

Making cards at home allows you to create truly keepsake cards in minutes, that your loved ones will display and cherish for years! The keepsake cards you create with our stencils are a cut above because your custom messages are combined with beautiful, hand-painted images. They don’t have to know how easily you stenciled that intricate rose! Your secret is safe with us.

Today’s featured video shows you our stencils in action, and was made with love by The Artful Stencil Team using our Heirloom Rose Stencil.

This card features our Lace 1 Stencil for beautiful edges, and our Heirloom Rose Stencil as the focal point.

Tips from the Video

  1. Use painter’s tape around your stencil to hold it in place.
  2. Load your stencil brush lightly with paint, and tap off any excess.
  3. Hold your brush perpendicular to the paper, and use a “pouncing” motion to paint.
  4. Wait until the paint is dried before removing the stencil. Voila!

Please note: Stencils are easier to use when they’re clean! After each use, soak your stencil in warm soapy water for easy removal of dried-on paint.
